Papia Nandi (MS, 2005)
Papia came to UW with a B.S. in computer science from the University of Illinois. At UW she worked on seismic oceanography and was first author on the second paper published on that topic. Papia is currently a geophysicist at BP in Houston, TX. Here she's riding out a storm on the fantail of the R/V Ewing in 2003 in the Norwegian Sea. About 10 seconds after this photo was taken, Papia's smile faded when that large wave broke over the fantail.
