Dan Lizarralde (PhD WHOI/MIT, 1997)

DLiz

Dan was my very first graduate student (yes, quite a stroke of luck) at WHOI.  For his PhD Dan worked on the deep structure of the southeastern U.S. rifted margin and the Aleutian island arc.  We've continued to work together on a number of projects over the years, including the Blake Ridge gas hydrate province, the Gulf of California rifted margin, and the volcanic arc in Costa Rica.  Here he is looking... pensive? amused? jaded?... aboard R/V Ewing on the Blake Ridge, October 2000.  Dan is currently an Associate Scientist at WHOI.
